- Man on WireToday
-
First off - a very Happy New Year to all of you. I hope you had decent breaks and managed to survive your families satisfactorily.
So. Here we go. The first review of 2009. Today we’re looking at a movie called Man On Wire. It’s a documentary about a French chappy called Phillipe Petite.
He’s an extraordinary fellow in many ways, not least because he likes nothing more than the high-wire. Or tightrope walking to you and me.
Anyway: as a kid he sees pictures of the Twin Towers in a magazine article and dreams of walking between the two of them. Yeah. Normal kid’s dream that one.
This movie documents what happened next…and let me tell you it’s simply unbelievable.
It’s an absolute cracker, so please do give it a try.
- Sony Ericsson Xperia X1Today
-
Today we’re taking a look at the latest smartphone from Sony Ericsson. It’s the Xperia X1, and it’s really quite a looker.
It has a touch screen, as well as a slide out keyboard with a gorgeous curvaceous look.
But it runs on Windows Mobile 6, one of the most hated operating systems on the planet. Can the Xperia overcome this handicap? Watch the video to find out.

- Katharine’s Favourite Games of 2008Yesterday
-
A new year is a chance to look back at the old, and today I’m looking back and picking my favourite games from 2008.
This is perhaps a rather atypical list, but I think it reflects my own philosophy of gaming which is much more concerned with how much enjoyment and entertainment a game facilitates rather than how may boxes it ticks for technical brilliance or popularity. Don’t forget to leave a comment with your own favourites of 2008 and what you’re looking out for in 2009.
I also have an announcement: this is actually my last episode writing and presenting ChannelFlip Games. Thank you so much to everyone who watches the show for all your support over the last 15 months, you guys have been fantastic and I’ll miss you!
However, do stay tuned for CFG re-incarnated next week!
