- Photographer of the week: Mike ShawNovember 15
-
I’ve following Mike’s work on DeviantArt for a few months and I must say that I love his work.
Mike is a passionate photographer shooting very diversified subjects going from street photography to landscape.
What really captures me in Mike’s gallery is the quality of his retouching. Colors or B&W he has this touch that make his pictures stand somewhere between painting and reality.
I invite you to visit Mike’s portfolio and would appreciate your feedback on this selection of his craft

- Photoshop tutorial: Stacking star trails picturesNovember 14
-
In the last tutorial we discussed how to shoot star trails pictures and we agreed that, in digital photography, you’d better go for multiple shots of 30 seconds each rather than one long shot to keep the noise under control.
So you’re back home with a handful of pictures, let’s see how to turn this exposures into one star trails pictures using Adobe Photoshop CS3.
First open the pictures you want to stack in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) and tweak the white balance and exposure as you’d do it for any other picture.

When you are satisfied click on “Select All” -> “Synchronize”. Make sure you have “Everything” selected and click “OK”

- Do you watermark your pictures? [Poll]November 10
-
This is somehow a follow-up discussion on a previous poll but I’d like to know if you tend to watermark the pictures you publish on the web and why.
If you do it, is it because obvious reasons or only on specific site ? If not is it because you don’t really care about seeing your pictures used or because you don’t think anyone would use it anyway.
So
Do you watermark your pictures?- Yes
- No
- No, I use IPTC fields instead
- Depends on where they will be posted/published
