- Nokia's E63 spotted at Symbian Smartphone ShowOctober 30

There's really no point in Nokia keeping this one "behind closed doors," as the E63 -- for all intents and purposes -- is official. Look, we've seen the thing mentioned in a cluttered Nokia XML file, we've seen an atypically clear spy shot and now we're seeing it undercover at the London-based Symbian Smartphone Show. After the crew at Mobile Industry Review tracked down someone with the handset discretely hidden in their bag, they did manage to get this quote out of him: "It looks like a - Samsung's C6620 looks fun, means business with WinMo 6.1October 29

Along with the change in naming convention comes a change in industrial design, and the C6620 -- one of the first smartphones to make use of Samsung's annoying new one-letter, four-digit scheme -- definitely looks a bit different than your average WinMo piece out of Seoul. Italian carrier TIM appears to be the first in the world to offer it, featuring triband GSM along with HSDPA, Bluetooth (we should certainly hope so), and a 2-megapixel camera -- not earth-shattering by any stretch, but we're digging the two-tone thing they've got going on here. It's selling for €199 (about $254), which we think makes this (or something very close to it) a perfect spiritual successor to the - WiFi certification: pretty strong evidence Verizon's Omnia is WiFi-equippedOctober 29

There's some ongoing debate as to whether Verizon's upcoming version of the Samsung Omnia, the predictably-named SCH-i910, would feature WiFi. In general, Verizon's historically just been about the least WiFi-friendly of the major US carriers, so prevailing logic had us believing (pessimists that we are) that the Omnia would rely on EV-DO alone to go about its high-speed data business, too. Ah, but wait -- there's this little matter of a WiFi Alliance certification proudly proclaiming the i910 as a "Phone, dual-mode (Wi-Fi and cellular)," whi - Sprint gives revamped Katana Eclipse X its One Click interfaceOctober 29

We had a sneaking suspicion that Sprint couldn't leave well enough alone with its current Katana Eclipse, and sure enough, we're now seeing reports that a mildly reworked Katana Eclipse X is on its way. As predicted, it'll be loosed in Nightlife Black and Hypnotic Pink, and the main difference over the existing iteration will be the One Click application, which enables users to "organize and personalize their homescreens with the most used applications, including Google search and e-mail." Everything else should remain the same, though we haven't heard if price is included in "everything."

Wondering where your iPhone 3G unlock's at? Rest assured, the delightful world of hackery hasn't been standing still in the months since the 3G was released, and to prove it, the iPhone Dev Team has slipped out a little teaser video (only with an iPhone 3G unlock could a 55-second video of terminal commands be called a "teaser video," by the way) showing some talented son of a gun having his or her way with the phone's baseband. An unlock isn't publicly available just yet -- but it looks like they're getting close. Any T-Mobile USA execs wryly smiling right about now? Check the full video after the break.
